King Candy was still lying. He didn’t move and his eyes were closed. Karissa, thinking that he’s dead, looked away and started to cry and Pascal, turning into blue, cuddled Candy’s silver hair. Suddenly King Candy moaned and got up. Karissa turned quickly to him, accidentally hitting him.

«Candy!» she happily hugged him.

«Ow, ow, ow, ow! Let me go! It hurts!» King Candy groaned, kneeling.

«Oh, I’m sorry…» Karissa took his shoulders gently.

«I know, I know… “Men are like babies”…» King Candy remembered Karissa’s phrase and moaned again.

«I thought you went to St. Petersburg.» Karissa said.

«I wanted…»

«You didn’t take…» Karissa wanted to say “money” but King Candy finished.

«No,… I didn’t.»

«Why?» Karissa asked.

«Well,… Because I…» King Candy was embarrassed. Karissa put her fingers on his lips and they leaned in for a kiss but Pascal squeaked them, showing Karissa’s crown. King Candy smiled, took the crown and stood up.

«They are waiting for you,» he said and gave the crown to Karissa.

Empress Marie found Karissa’s crown on the table. There was a letter:

“Dear Granny, wish us luck. We will meet you in Paris very soon. Karissa and King Candy.”

Empress smiled warmly and gave the letter to Sophie.

«They’ve eloped. How it’s romantic! Oh, what the wonderful ending!» Sophie said with tears of joy.
«No. It’s the wonderful beginning.» Empress said and, looking in the window, blew Karissa and King Candy a kiss. All what she desired to know, she knows now. Her granddaughter is alive and she has the reliable guardian, King Candy. Now nothing’s gonna stop them or ruin their happiness…
